Nameservers contain the information a browser requires to be able to find the location of a web site. It also serves to show mail programs where to send email messages so as a result, the location of the nameservers is the most important settings when setting up a website. How to Change Godaddy.com Domain Nameservers: - Login to your account at godaddy.com
- On the left hand side of the screen, click “Domain Manager”
- A new window will open showing the domain. Select the check box next to the domain name
- Click the “nameservers” button
- After a “Set Nameserver” dialog box appears, select the circle next to “Custom nameservers”
- Enter the following information in the text boxes that appear:
a. Nameserver 1: “ns.dnsprotect.com” b. Nameserver 2: “ns2.dnsprotect.com” - After you finish entering the nameservers, they should both turn to capital letters, confirming that they have been entered correctly. Click “OK”
- After the form submits, a confirmation email will appear saying “Your changes have been submitted…”, click “OK”
- If you check the email that you use as you contact email, you should receive an email from “support @ godaddy.com” confirming the changes.
- Close the domain manager and logout of your Godaddy account.
